Simha Arom is a Jewish musician who became a world famous ethnomusicologist after deciphering the polyphonies of the Pygmies in Central Africa. The film follows the track of his life, addressing his research as well as his personal, eventful life.

Jerome Blumberg, born in 1951 in Paris, is a French cinematographer. He started his career working with other directors, including Jean Rouch. Since 1979, he has directed his own movies, such as Becoming a Navigator, Becoming a Priest (2003), Sirius: l’étoile Dogon (1999) and Gare sans trains (1997).
