Iran: Children of the Revolution
thursday june 7 | 20.00 hrs | world premiere

Teheran: 11pm
In the stripped-down setting of her bedroom, a young 23-year-old Iranian woman opens the door to her private life. This fragmented space is gradually built as Nasrin reveals herself. The sincerity with which she recognizes the constraints of her enclosed space generates a game of hide-and-seek between her and the camera. With candour and clarity, her gaze creates a meeting place. It is between these four walls, late at night, that Nasrin is freed from imposed values.

Vanessa Langer (1979) was born in Geneva, Switzerland. She studied Spanish at the University of Geneva, graduated as a Master in History at the same university in 2005, and is now a student of visual anthropology. In her young career, Vanessa conducted anthropological research on trance ceremonies in Benin and Madagascar, and on veiling in Yemen. As a student of visual anthropology, she went to Teheran several times in order to set up a video project with the aim of making a documentary. She suggested to eighteen young Iranian artists (painters, graphic designers, photographers, filmmakers) that they should film their daily life by considering the camera as a diary.
