Gina’s Wedding

‘Gina's Wedding’ is a film about inter-cultural
relationships, a love story between Gina, a
young German woman and Napamogona, a native
village in Papua New Guinea. The village has
decided to host Gina's wedding with Mark, her
fiancé. For Gina, Napamogona has become a loved
place where she wants to celebrate her marriage.
For her adoption father and chief of the village
the wedding is an opportunity to assure his
authority, reaffirm the social cohesion among
the clans in the village and to enter it into
modernity. The film describes how love can
become the basis of collective human
organization.
